GRIT Adaptive is partnering with GRACE, Inc. to better serve families in need. GRACE (Granting Respite And Care for the Extraordinary) is a local nonprofit that hosts children with special needs and their families for supported play and education. Children and their siblings enjoy a non-judgmental place to play with a buddy (trained volunteer) who will guide them through a number of gross motor, fine motor, and sensory activities designed to encourage communication, interaction, and fun.
During the event, caregivers have the option to attend "The Chat." Details below!
Check out the GRACE website, and click on "Events" to register for Friends & Fun Respite or The Chat.
UPCOMING DATES:
The Chat is an opportunity to learn, connect, and build friendships in an educational community group. This includes a speaker or panel, refreshments, and round table discussion.
Our guest speakers will guide you in identifying personal stresses, and worries, and offer a variety of solutions from mind-body approaches for yourself, to behavior modification techniques, OT therapies, and accommodations and modifications to try with your child. The goal is to give you, the parent, tools for your toolbox so that when you are met with new developmental difficulties, you have a network of people and resources to try. We can't wait to meet you!

The bake sale held in December was an amazing show of community support! From all of the bakers who contributed their wonderful baked goods, to those that purchased them, to the more than 100 cookie trays that were sold, we appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you!

The 3rd Annual Walk & Roll Fundraiser was held at Bunker Hills Regional Park. The weather was beautiful as we took on a 1.5 mile walk, finishing off with refreshing beverages from the Café, a DJ, yard games, and raffle prizes. We had a blast celebrating our community of GRIT: Growth, Resilience, Inclusion, and Transformation. Thank you for your support!

TopGolf was a "smashing" success! Supporters came together for an evening of golf, camaraderie, food, and fun. The "Play-a-Card" challenges added an extra level of excitement to the tournament, as players could have a pro swing for them, or even sabotage each other!
The funds raised will be used to sustain and grow our current programs that provide adaptive and supportive programs for youth and adults with disabilities. These include recreational classes in gymnastics, ninja, and dance, community outings and field trips, and vocational opportunities through our Café.

Our community came together and held an amazing bake sale in December 2024. We couldn't be more grateful for the supporters that planned, contributed and purchased the yummy baked treats!

We are so grateful for our community! The Walk & Roll 1 Mile was held at the end of September on a gorgeous 80 degree day. The smoothies sold by the Café were the perfect refresher after the walk, dancing to the DJ music, and playing yard games!

Adult basic Hip Hop skill class for all abilities followed by a dance and karaoke party!
Another amazing party in partnership with Project Power - stay tuned for our next event!
